On Achieving a Slice of the Dream — 2 Comments

  1. I enjoyed this post because it embodies my experiences (except for the dream!). It is so difficult not to become discouraged. I am at the moment at that junction and find it hard to write on my WIP. I know, of course, that other writers experience the same feelings but it is comforting to read it in black and white sometime.

    • Thanks for the feedback, Linda! What keeps me from feeling discouraged is that I always know I can get back to my real writing, and keep improving it. Again, the marketing is just seeds cast out there. If the work is good, sooner or later “something is bound to take root.” We just don’t look forward to that being posthumously. In any case the real engine is the ongoing expansion of your own work. I hope WIP means “work in progress.” I’ve been trying to figure that one out for several days now.
